There’s nothing like being in the water with a great white shark. Powerful, calm, and in control. People always ask if I’m scared — but fear usually comes from misunderstanding. Great whites are apex predators, but they’re not mindless killers. They’re intelligent, calculated, and often way more cautious around us than we are around them. 🦈
What’s crazy is how much fear people have toward tiger sharks too. They’re often even more misunderstood. I’ve spent thousands of hours with them — face to face — and they’ve shown me nothing but curiosity and intelligence. Yeah, you’ve got to respect them, read their body language, and move calmly, but the truth is… they’re not monsters. They’re survivors. And they’re essential to the balance of the ocean.
This video is just a glimpse into what it’s like being in their world. Every encounter is a reminder of how much more there is to learn — and how much more we need to protect. Respect the ocean. Respect its predators.
