My Best Birthday Present Ever -Thrift Store Fun! - Life at 69

Favorites & THRIFTING! An amazing birthday present that I will cherish. I need your help with the outside decor! I had a wonderful birthday week and celebrated with friends and family! Thank you for making my birthday so special with your cards, messages, and sweet comments. I share my favorites regarding haircare, skincare, and meaningful gifts to give...and finding folk art at the thrift store was so fun.

One of my very favorite poets is Margaret Walker and I was reading her poem about her grandmothers and it seemed so fitting to everything I was feeling this week about the women in my family that came before me. My grandmother Lyla was beautiful and full of promise as a young woman. She married and had 2 children but spent most of her days drinking, staying in bed ..crying to music, and writing huge volumes of amazing poetry. She had moments of happiness...but she carried a sadness inside that she never shared except through her writings. I want to know so much more about her.
