Manoj Jarange Patil, living in Beed district of Maharashtra, had gone on hunger strike and fast unto death several times from 2014 to 2018, but his movement was not much discussed! Last year, he founded "Shivba Sanghatan" for Maratha empowerment. Raised the demand for reservation again by starting an organization with the name! In September this year, he had put forth the demand before the government that despite 33% of Maharashtra's population being Maratha, they get only 13% reservation in government jobs and educational institutions. Manoj Jarange says that the movement will continue until Marathas are given Kunbi caste certificate and are not included in OBC. But on this the government says that the limit of 50 percent in reservation cannot be broken! But still the government is trying to find a suitable solution to this!
