For SIHH 2018, Jaeger LeCoultre has re-imagined its sports watch lineup as a full collection inspired by the 1968 Jaeger LeCoultre Polaris Diving Alarm. The models are as follows: Jaeger LeCoultre Polaris Automatic, Polaris Date, Polaris Memovox, Polaris Chronograph, and Polaris Chronograph World Time. The Polaris Memovox is the closest to the original; its 42mm case, dramatically domed sapphire, vanilla-tinted dial luminescence, and true-to-history Super Compressor caseback logo make this 1,000-piece limited edition a hot commodity for fans who love vintage style but crave a warranty, luxury built, and the security of a modern 200-meter water resistance rating. The 42mm stainless steel Polaris Date is the second most heritage-driven model in the Polaris collection. Its 200-meter water resistance rating, dramatically domed sapphire, and vanilla-tinted Super Luminova create the requisite heritage character. The Polaris Memovox, Polaris Date, and Polaris Automatic all feature a bi-directional internal dive bezel inspired by the 1968 original; the Polaris Automatic makes due with a 100-meter water resistant rating and offers a more compact steel 41mm case. A 100-meter automatic chronograph arrives in the form of the Jaeger LeCoultre Polaris Chronograph; it is 42mm in stainless steel and is powered by the 65-hour power reserve vertical clutch/column wheel manufacture caliber 751. For fans of compound complications, the Polaris Chronograph World Time marries a twin-register (minutes and seconds) chronograph with a 24-time zone world time function. The 44mm titanium Polaris World Time Chronograph is the largest entry in the collection, and it is the only watch not crafted from rose gold or steel.

All of the new Jaeger LeCoultre Polaris models can be purchased on a calf leather strap, an alligator leather strap, a rubber strap, or a steel bracelet with double-deployant clasp and twin micro-adjusters. All models are available with a black dial or a blue dial; all dials feature applied indices and numerals. The Polaris Chronograph also can be purchased in rose gold with an anthracite/metallic grey dial, and rose gold models will be delivered with matching rose gold deployant clasps and rose gold rotors; steel and titanium models feature tungsten rotors. All models delivered on calf or alligator straps will receive pull-tab spring bars and a clasp that enable rapid removal and replacement of straps to suit the tastes or circumstances of the owner.

Jaeger LeCoultre expands its relationship with Argentine leather specialists Casa Fagliano for 2018. Multiple Reverso references including the new Reverso Tribute Small Seconds will be available with Casa Fagliano’s signature shell cordovan leather straps, and The 1916 Company was able to film Eduardo Fagliano at work cutting, finishing, and fitting Casa Fagliano straps to the Reverso colleciton
