The basic idea of this prepping technique is to establish a well defined occlusal outline to guide you for the gingival box. In the mean time, the occlusal outline can also provide better access and vision when dropping the box. When I was beginner, I ‘d like to start my practice at the bench top to understand the concept and motion. Then, gradually transferred a mannequin to better understand positioning and fulcrums.
