How to find Facebook groups 2017

Hi Paul here from PRwilson Media your social media personal trainer. Now you may run your own Facebook group, you may be a member of groups, you may have got invites from people in groups. Where do you manage all of that from one place? I'm going to show you how with this option here under explore groups. Here we go.

So you log on as your own personal profile go to home and then you click on groups under the explore section.

And you've got 3 tabs. You've got groups , discover and manage. So the first thing you see is any recent posts from the groups you are most active in. And then you can scroll down here to the top posts as well as the favourite groups. You can click on the individual groups that you are a member of. Quite often you discover that you are in groups that you have forgotten about and maybe you don't want to be in those particular groups.

If you click on manage , the first thing you will see is any invites to groups that you've got, awaiting your response.

And here you will see groups that you actually actively manage. Any particular favourite ones you want to keep an eye on , the groups you manage come up first.

And then the groups that you are in appear there. So any of these groups that you are not comfortable with being in any more , you want to move on from that particular group. You can just click on this star wheel and just say leave group. And you can even say prevent other people from adding you back in to it.

There's one other type of group you might want to look at which is the archived group. Which means the group is now no longer active. It's very difficult for the admin of a group with 1000s of people in it to actually remove everybody, because everyone has to be removed before it can be closed so what they generally do is just archive it so that it's no longer active . no longer any new posts but there is still content in there.

And a third option to look at is Discover. And here we can see what groups your friends are in, what are they involved with. What's local to you , buy and sell groups, different types of groups you can have a look at. All manner of potential groups you could be part of. And it is very difficult to go into each of these groups and build relationships so I would be selective around which groups you choose to join and make sure that you don't just go in there to promote your own stuff. Make sure you take part in that group and value the members.

So that's pretty much groups in a nutshell all the different things you can do to manage how you see groups.
