Jackfruit is one of our favorite fruits because we can enjoy it in two ways — ripe and unripe. In Bangladesh, jackfruit grows in abundance and is closely connected to village life.

Recently, I picked some fresh green baby jackfruits from my uncle’s tree. That evening, I cooked crispy fried jackfruit. It was crunchy on the outside and soft and spicy inside — a perfect meat-free evening snack.

On another day, the sky was full of white and grey clouds, the air was cool, and the smell of wet soil filled the village. I walked toward the fields and saw fresh green kolmi shak (water spinach) growing beside the water. This simple village vegetable is full of natural flavor.

I cooked crispy kolmi shak pakoras outside under the open sky. After cooking, we all sat together as a family, enjoying hot pakoras, talking and laughing, while the children played around. It was a peaceful and happy village moment.

Rainy days always remind me of my village kitchen. I remember my mother making hot singaras on a clay stove, with the smell of spices in the air. As a child, I waited eagerly for the first hot singara, enjoyed with a cup of tea.

In Bangladesh and West Bengal, it is called singara, and in other places, samosa. The name may be different, but the taste and feeling are the same.

This video is not just about food. It is about nature, family, memories, and the simple beauty of village life.
