Original English lyrics composed by Roger Cook and Roger Greenaway whilst assigned to Dick James’s Maribus Music, just after leaving Mills Music, and just before forming Cookaway Music. This is American jazz guitarist Charlie Byrd, performing an instrumental of the Engelbert Humperdinck chart hit “The Way It Used To Be”. Produced and musical arrangements by Teo Macero, featuring Herbie Hancock on keyboards. Song is from Charlie’s world-wide album “Aquarius” released on CBS-Columbia Records back in 1969. However not released in the UK. The song has also been released by many artists, including Al Martino, Jerry Vale, and The Spitfires.
