Sydney Walks: Crater Cove Walking Track

On the edge of Sydney Harbour National Park, Crater Cove is a secret spot in Sydney. Between the 1920s and 1960s, little huts were built close to the water's edge and were lived in until residents were evicted in the 1980s. Today, the huts are maintained by volunteers for their historical value.
There is a steep track off the Manly to Spit Bridge Coastal Walk and you can get to it via Beatty Street in Balgowlah. The track is not maintained and can be difficult at times. Generally, there is a lot of thick bush around the huts and the paths are hard to find. The huts are locked and visitors are asked to be respectful of the place.
Still, you can imagine what a simple paradise this must have been...
