Sergei Lavrov dances with welcoming party after arriving in South Africa for BRICS summit

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in Johannesburg on Tuesday ahead of the BRICS summit.

Footage captured by South Africa's Department of Social Development showed Lavrov being greeted by traditional dancers.

Lavrov will deputise for Russian President Vladimir Putin, who will instead address colleagues from Brazil, India, China and South Africa via video link from Russia, as he is wanted under an international arrest warrant for alleged war crimes in Ukraine.
