Casting crank baits near weeds can be extremely effective through the summer and can sometimes be overlooked. Cranks trigger strikes when water temps warm up and also cover water fast. The flash, vibration and water displacement can also pull fish out of weeds. In this video, we use the Northland Rumble Shad to catch fish off the edges of cabbage, coontail and milfoil.

Lush green weeds produce oxygen, provide shade and cover and will hold a percentage of walleye all summer. These locations often produce a nicer average size of fish.
