Donald Trump's family was sure to celebrate his birthday with him and attend his birthday parade, however, two of his children were missing
President Donald Trump had a few close family members missing from his military parade on Saturday.
Trump rang in his 79th birthday with a military parade that partly honored him on his special day, albeit mostly to honor the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army. Keeping the celebration going, after the parade was over, there was a nice dinner at the White House for the Commander-in-Chief. Most of Trump's family was there, except for a couple of his loved ones.
Lara Trump, wife of Trump's son Eric Trump, took to Instagram shortly after the parade's end to share a selfie photo of the President with his relatives.
Some of who was surrounding Trump in the pic was Lara, his two sons Eric and Donald Trump Jr, daughter Tiffany Trump.
Missing from the photo was Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump, and youngest son Barron Trump - Trump's wife Melania was also absent from the pic.
"Impromptu birthday dinner! We love you @realdonaldtrump — HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!" Lara captioned the photo.
On June 14, 1775, the Second Continental Congress voted to create the Continental Army from the militia units around Boston, and on the next day, June 15, George Washington was elected commander in chief.
Ivanka currently resides in Miami, but made the trip to D.C. to celebrate her father's special day. Earlier this year, the First Daughter was keen to squash rumors that she would move back into the White House after Trump's second presidential win.
Speaking to Skinny Confidential's 'Him & Her Show' podcast, Ivanka explained that this time around, she planned to avoid Washington, D.C., and bluntly declared, "I hate politics."
She explained: "I love policy and impact. I hate politics. And unfortunately, the two are not separable," she added. During his last term, Trump's daughter was among his top advisers and worked on the child tax credit, getting the tax credit doubled as it went through the legislative process.
Ivanka added that it is a "very dark, negative business", and said: "There is a darkness to that world that I don't really want to welcome into mine.
"The main reason I am not going back to serve now is I know the cost, and it's a price that I'm not willing to make my kids bear," she explained. But said she would still "show up" for Trump as a daughter, with him being in office again.
