Little Esther Phillips was an American blues and R&B singer. She began her career in the 1940s and quickly became one of the leading vocalists in the blues and R&B genres. She was known for her powerful, soulful voice and her ability to convey emotion in her performances. Phillips was particularly noted for her rendition of "Mistrustin' Blues," which was a hit in 1950. She continued to release successful records throughout her career and collaborated with many other musicians in the blues and R&B fields. She was also known as Little Esther and Mojo Hannah and was considered one of the most influential female vocalists of the blues and R&B genres in the 20th century.
