When a PAS leader claimed that a Chinese woman had attacked Sultan Nazrin Shah during a public celebration, the story spread quickly online. It played neatly into the party’s familiar race-and-religion narrative, fuelling anger and suspicion. But the claim fell apart almost immediately when police confirmed the woman in question was Malay. What was framed as a racial provocation turned out to be a dangerous misrepresentation, raising serious questions about why race was mentioned in the first place.

This video examines not just the incident itself, but the broader pattern it reflects in Malaysian politics. PAS leaders often fall back on race to score political points, despite branding themselves under the slogan “PAS for All.” The contradiction could not be clearer: a party that insists it represents all Malaysians while habitually singling out communities to stoke fear and division. The fallout here — from police reports to public backlash — shows how Malaysians across backgrounds are increasingly unwilling to tolerate this sort of manipulation.

The lesson is not just about one politician or one viral post. It is about the deeper costs of turning race into a political weapon. Every time these narratives are pushed, they distract from real issues facing Malaysians, undermine trust between communities, and weaken the country’s ability to move forward together. This is why it matters to call out racism plainly, reject the excuses, and insist on a politics that respects every Malaysian equally.
