Orphaned Walrus Calf Veterinary Exam: First Radiographs

Описание к видео Orphaned Walrus Calf Veterinary Exam: First Radiographs

Our Wildlife Response Staff have said that taking radiographs for an orphaned walrus calf is one of the coolest things they’ve ever been a part of!

Taking radiographs with wildlife can be challenging, and there are lots of safety protocols our team has to follow, while always keeping the team and the animal safe.

Like many wildlife response patients, part of this walrus calf’s initial veterinary exam was to get radiographs of her body, so our team could ensure that she didn’t have any broken bones, ingested foreign bodies, and more.

This video was captured only a few days after the walrus calf’s arrival, and luckily, everything looked great!
