It isn't áll classic Baureihe 218s in The North of Germany, but luckily most of them are. Two of the ICs past October were pulled by the modern TRAXX BR 245. A diesel-electric locomotive that is powered by four smaller diesel engines. A quite cool concept!

The BR 245 was found on the very first, and returned on the very last of the IC services that went all the way to Sylt Westerland. I do think they look quite good, but they nowhere near have the prowess and appearance of the classic BR 218s.

They do however, pack quite a punch!
