The Herringbone Dilemma

I take a walnut board and make it into a large blank for a turned box.

The end grain herringbone pattern is achieved by cross-cutting 2" lengths from a 13"x11" walnut board and stacking them on end, to make something quite dramatic looking from a fairly common board!
