I was very excited and grateful to Ms. Ferzana Cocker and the ISKCON community for giving me the opportunity to experience the annual Rath Yatra, or Chariot Festival. This festival has been held in Kenya for 38 years and is open to the public. I was amazed to see people from all walks of life joining together to pull the chariot of the deities, Lord Krishna and his siblings. The procession, comprising hundreds of people including Kenyan Africans, Asians, and other foreigners, marched from KICC to the Hare Krishna temple, where everyone was served a sumptuous feast. I was deeply impressed by the warmth and welcoming nature of the Asian community. Thank you for extending the invitation to my lecturer and her students.
