Prince Charles disembarked from the Royal Yacht Britannia in Manila on Thursday (3/7) to begin a brief, rain-sodden visit to the Philippines.
Prince Charles, who sailed from Hong Kong after handover ceremonies on July 1, was met by British and Filipino officials led by London's Ambassador to Manila Adrian Thorpe, Philippine Foreign Secretary Domingo Siazon, and Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim.
The Britannia, which sailed from Hong Kong immediately after the handover ceremonies, steamed into Manila harbour escorted by the Royal Navy frigate HMS Chatham and three patrol craft used by the British navy in Hong Kong. Also on board is former Hong Kong governor Chris Patten.
