If YOU decide to cancel your flight, you may be eligible to get a voucher due to COVID-19.
But if YOUR AIRLINE actually cancels your flight, you're likely owed a refund. It's U.S. law.

If your flight touches U.S. soil, that refund law applies. It doesn't matter if it's a U.S. airline or a foreign carrier. And the same is true if your airline significantly changes your flight schedule - changing your time by a few hours or adding a connection when you booked a nonstop trip.

As COVID-19 decimates the airline industry, those cancellations and schedule changes have become more and more common - but often not until just a month or two before you depart. That's why we tell all travelers: WAIT TO CANCEL YOUR FLIGHTS! With some patience, you could get your money back.

Still, a voucher is better than nothing. And many airlines are offering free change and cancellation (for a voucher) to many upcoming flights, as well as tickets booked within the next month or so. Depending on when you booked your flight, your voucher may be good for another year - or even up to two years.
