The Enchanted Lake - Bedtime Stories for kids
Once upon a time, in a land where the hills were as green as emeralds and the skies as blue as sapphires, there was a hidden lake that shimmered like a diamond. Legends say that the lake was enchanted, and that any child who dipped their toes into the water would have their dreams come true.
One day, a boy named Timmy, who loved to dream big, decided to find the lake. He wanted to see if the magic was real. After days of searching, he finally stumbled upon the glittering waters, hidden deep in a forest.
Excitedly, Timmy dipped his toes into the water, and instantly, the lake began to glow. “What’s your biggest dream, Timmy?” a voice whispered from the water.
Timmy thought for a moment. “I want to be able to fly like the birds!”
The lake shimmered even brighter, and suddenly, Timmy felt himself rising into the air! He flapped his arms like wings and soared through the sky, laughing with joy.
Timmy flew over mountains, rivers, and valleys. But after a while, he realized that even though flying was fun, he missed the ground and the people he loved. He returned to the lake and dipped his toes in again.
“This has been amazing,” Timmy said, “but I think my biggest dream is to always be with my family.”
The lake twinkled, and Timmy felt his feet touch the ground. From then on, though he couldn’t fly anymore, he was happy knowing that his true dream was to stay close to those who mattered most.
The Enchanted Lake: Timmy and the Star Wish
Since the day he visited the Enchanted Lake, Timmy never forgot its magic. He would often sit by his window at night, looking up at the stars and wondering what other dreams the lake could grant—if it would ever call to him again.
Then, one evening, just as the moon began to rise, a glowing firefly tapped on his window. It blinked three times and zipped toward the woods.
Timmy smiled. He knew what that meant.
He tiptoed outside in his pajamas, following the golden trail until he reached the lake—still as beautiful and glowing as ever.
“Hello again, Timmy,” the lake whispered gently.
“I’ve missed you,” Timmy whispered back.
The lake sparkled. “Are you ready for a new adventure?”
Timmy nodded. “This time… I want to visit the stars.”
With a twinkle, the lake formed a silver boat made of moonlight. “Climb in,” it said.
As soon as Timmy stepped into the boat, it rose from the water like a balloon and floated higher and higher—past clouds, past birds, and even past the moon—until he reached the stars.
They weren’t cold or far away anymore. They danced like fireflies and sang soft lullabies. One by one, the stars greeted him:
“Welcome, Timmy! We’ve heard your heart.”
He drifted among them, touching glowing constellations and sliding down light beams. But as he looked down at Earth, he noticed something strange. The people below looked small and quiet. No one could hear him laugh or wave.
And just like before, Timmy began to miss home.
“I love the stars,” he told the sky. “But I miss my bedtime stories, and my warm blanket, and my mom’s goodnight kiss.”
The stars blinked kindly. “Then it’s time to go home, Dreamer.”
The moonlight boat gently carried Timmy back down, rocking like a cradle on the way. When he returned to the Enchanted Lake, he dipped his toes in the water once more.
“Thank you,” he said. “The stars are amazing, but home is where my heart lives.”
The lake shimmered with pride.
That night, Timmy climbed into bed feeling cozy and calm. And just before falling asleep, he saw one last twinkle outside his window.
It was a star.
Winking.
Just for him.
The End.
Goodnight, Dreamer.
