This 500kg monstrosity is the motorcycle that Vladimir Putin has ordered from Kalashnikov.
Vladimir Putin recently debuted a new Russian-made limousine, which will be joined by a range of armored sedans and SUVs. Furthermore, the Russian leader's bodyguards will soon be able to ride these new motorcycles, which, by the way, are owned by the Kalashnikov group. Yes, the one with assault rifles and flying motorcycles. It's the Izh Kortezh (or at least that's what it's provisionally known as), and it's a kind of armored limousine turned motorcycle, or a crazy fusion between a bagger-style motorcycle and a 007 movie villain's tank, which will become part of the presidential entourage.
About 150 hp, enough to propel 510kg to 250km/h. Oh, yes. You read that right. This motorcycle is produced by the same company that still manufactures the infamous Kalashnikov AK-47, the USSR's favorite assault rifles, conceived by Mikhail Kalashnikov in 1947 and still produced under license for multiple countries, especially in Africa and Asia.
Returning to the motorcycle itself, this compendium of Russian engineering and design couldn't be more... Russian. Its bagger-futuristic-industrial style commands respect, with a size that reaches almost 3 meters in length (2,900 mm) by 940 mm in width and 1,250 mm in height, for a final weight of, hold on, 510 kg. It's hard to know exactly what's under so much bodywork that it almost completely covers the front wheel. The engine appears to be a four-cylinder boxer configuration with a displacement close to 2.0 liters, judging by the canned sound in the video, although we wouldn't bet on it either. The trunks look like they might rub extremely early, although given its weight, tilting them too far wouldn't be a good idea either.
They claim the Kortezh will have a power output of approximately 150 hp, which will somehow launch it at a top speed of 250 km/h and reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 3.5 seconds. They haven't made any statements regarding how this monster will brake.
Chemezov hasn't announced a price, nor the markets in which it will be sold other than Russia, nor a sales date, but he did confirm that production will begin in 2025 and that it has already sparked interest in some Arab markets, which have reportedly deposited €110 million for the project.
The developers of this new concept have also assured that it "will match or even surpass the quality levels of its foreign competitors." They are not short of optimism.

Es difícil saber exactamente qué hay debajo de tanta carrocería que incluso cubre casi por completo la rueda delantera. El motor parece de configuración bóxer y de cuatro cilindros con una cilindrada próxima a los 2.0 litros por el sonido enlatado del vídeo aunque tampoco pondríamos la mano en el fuego y las maletas tienen pinta de rozar extremadamente pronto, aunque con lo que pesa tampoco sería buena idea inclinar demasiado. Aseguran que la Kortezh tendrá una potencia de aproximadamente 150 CV con los que de alguna manera será capaz de lanzarse hasta 250 km/h de velocidad punta y alcanzar los 100 km/h desde parado en 3,5 segundos. Sobre lo de cómo frenar esta mole no han hecho ninguna afirmación. Chemezov no ha anunciado precio, ni mercados en los que se venderá aparte de Rusia, ni fecha de comercialización, pero sí ha asegurado que su producción arrancará a lo largo de 2025 y que ya ha despertado interés en algunos mercados árabes que habrían depositado 110 millones de euros para el proyecto.
También han asegurado los desarrolladores que igualará a la competencia.
