Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced a significant financial boost for women under the Kalaignar Women's Rights Grant Scheme. A total of ₹5,000 has been credited to the bank accounts of 1.31 crore women beneficiaries across the state. This amount includes a ₹3,000 advance for the months of February, March, and April, along with a special summer allocation of ₹2,000. Stalin stated that the advance was issued to prevent potential attempts by 'those in Delhi' to block the scheme using election procedures. He further promised that if the DMK forms a 'Dravidian Model 2.0' government, the monthly allowance will be doubled from ₹1,000 to ₹2,000. The Chief Minister emphasized his commitment to the welfare scheme, asserting he 'will not back down' despite political opposition. This move is seen as a major strategic step ahead of the upcoming elections in Tamil Nadu.
