Netflix's One Piece, the long-awaited live action adaptation of the manga, dropped not too long ago. And, to my shock, it was actually awesome. But why did One Piece succeed where other adaptations like Cowboy Bebop and Dragon Ball Evolution fell flat?

Having thought on it for quite a bit, I think I may have come up with a few major factors as to why.
