In this video I review the SRM Medal 259L, a folding knife that might genuinely be one of the nicest knives in its price range, coming in at just under $80.

The Medal 259L stands out with its green anodized aluminum handle paired with real rosewood inlays, giving it a refined, almost collector-grade look while still being built for real EDC use.
The blade is a black reverse tanto made from 14C28N, offering a great balance between edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness.

It runs on ceramic ball bearings, opens via thumb stud, and locks up with SRM’s Ambi Lock (crossbar lock). The action is smooth, controlled, and confidence-inspiring, with an audible click once fully locked.
SRM also includes their proprietary ambi deep-carry pocket clip, making it equally comfortable for left- or right-handed carry.

The standout feature, however, is the weight — only 75 grams, despite being a proper EDC-sized folding knife.

In the review, I also compare it directly to one of my favorite folders: the CIVIVI Vision FG.
Both knives sit in a similar price range and feature a reverse tanto blade, but the differences are striking. The Vision FG uses Nitro-V steel and, while visually similar in size, weighs almost twice as much at around 124 grams.

This comparison really highlights how differently these two knives approach EDC — lightweight minimalism versus a more substantial, heavy-duty feel — and helps decide which style fits your carry better.
