The Delhi court ruled that a money laundering investigation based solely on a private complaint, without a prior FIR and proper procedure, is legally unsustainable.

The verdict has raised serious questions regarding the ED’s actions, the absence of a predicate offence, prolonged questioning without an FIR, and delays in delivering the judgment.
