PM CARES children scheme has been launched to support orphans who lost their parents to the pandemic. A monthly stipend will be given after these children turn 18 and a fund of Rs. 10 lakh when they turn 23. During the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, many children lost their parents to the virulent virus. PM CARES is also set to pay health insurance premium for these children. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that these children are the future of the nation and the country will do anything and everything to protect them.
