World famous musician Mick McAuley shares his passion for the winning of the title in 2020 and the global influence of Trad music from the South East region. In his video for the Three Sisters 2020 Bid filmed at ‘The Hole in the Wall’ Mick says

“Irish Music has travelled throughout the world and luckily us players have travelled throughout the world too and having travelled to play music I have experienced many different culture. It also makes me realise the uniqueness of our own culture in the South East region and having sat in formal music session all over the world including Osaka and Tokyo and played the tunes I learned as a child with musicians who have never even been to Ireland, such is the reach of traditional Irish music and particularly some of the music from the Southeast region.”
