Lyrics :-
haan , sachchaai chhup nahi sakati, banaavat ke usulo se
ki khushabu aa nahi sakati, kabhi kaagaz ke phulo se !
mai intazaar karun, ye dil nisaar karun
mai tujhase pyaar karun, o magar kaise aitabaar karun ?
jhuthaa hai teraa vaadaa !
vaadaa teraa vaadaa, vaadaa teraa vaadaa - (2)
vaade pe tere maaraa gayaa, bandaa mai sidhaa saadhaa
vaadaa teraa vaadaa, vaadaa teraa vaadaa - (2)
tumhaari zulf hai yaa, sadak kaa mod hai ye ?
tumhaari aankh hai yaa, nashe kaa tod hai ye?
kahaa kab kyaa kisi se, tumhe kuchh yaad nahi
hamaare saamane hai, hamaare baad nahi
kitaab-e-husn me to, vafaa kaa naam nahi, are !
(mohabbat tum karogi ? tumhaaraa kaam nahi !) - (2)
akadati khub ho tum, meri mahabub ho tum - (2)
nigaah-e-gair se bhi, magar manasub ho tum
kisi shaayar se puchho, gazal ho yaa rubaa_i
bhari hai shaayari me, tumhaari bevafaa_i
ho ! daaman me tere phul hai kam, aur kaante hai zyaadaa
vaadaa teraa vaadaa, vaadaa teraa vaadaa - (2)
vaade pe tere maaraa gayaa, bandaa mai sidhaa saadhaa
vaadaa teraa vaadaa, vaadaa teraa vaadaa - (2)
taraane jaanati hai, fasaane jaanati hai
ka_i dil todane ke, bahaane jaanati hai
kahi pe soz hai tu, kahi pe saaz hai tu
jise samajhaa naa koi, vahi ek raaz hai tu
kabhi tu ruth baithi, kabhi tu muskaraa_i, are !
kisi se ki mohabbat, kisi se bevafaa_i ! - (2)
udaae hosh taubaa, teri aankhe sharaabi - (2)
zamaane me hui hai, inhi se har kharaabi
bulaae chhaanv koi, pukaare dhup koi
teraa ho rag koi, teraa ho rup koi
ho ! kuchh phark nahi naam teraa, raziyaa ho yaa raadhaa !!
vaadaa teraa vaadaa, vaadaa teraa vaadaa - (2)
vaade pe tere maaraa gayaa, bandaa mai sidhaa saadhaa
vaadaa teraa vaadaa, vaadaa teraa vaadaa - (2)
Pyarelal [ of Laxmikant Pyarelal duo]...about this song ...
I recall how Kishoreda was very reluctant to sing ‘vaada tera vaada’ in Dushman and was insisting we get Rafi for it.
We surrounded Kishoreda and Rajesh Khanna winked at Laxmikant and me and told Kishoreda that in that case we would scrap the song.
And he immediately changed his mind!”
Dushman is a 1971 Hindi film produced by Premji and directed by Dulal Guha. It is based on a novel by Virendra Sharma. The film stars Rajesh Khanna in the title role and for which he received a Filmfare nomination as Best Actor, the only nomination for the film. Meena Kumari, Mumtaz, Bindu, Rehman, Asit Sen and Johnny Walker are part of the cast.
The film became a "super-hit" at the box office and stood 3rd in top ten list. The 2012 review of the film by the newspaper "The Hindu" stated: "Essaying the role of Surjit Singh, a reckless, macho truck driver, with a penchant for consuming desi liquor and visiting brothels, the actor can be described in only one word — superb. Wearing fatigues for most of the film and donning a moustache, Khanna looks every bit the truck driver he portrays. He adapts to the role, discarding his trademark mannerism and style of dialogue delivery for a sprightly walk and body language that smacks of arrogance."
This film was remade in Tamil as Needhi in 1972, starring Sivaji Ganesan and Jayalalithaa. The film was later remade into the Telugu film Khaidii Babay (1974), starring Shobhan Babu in the title role, and Vanisri as his love interest. Also was remade in Malayalam as Maattoly starring M. G. Soman. It was also remade in Kannada by Shankar Nag as Hosa Theerpu (1983) starring Ambareesh.

Fantastic Movie!

DUSHMUN featuring once again the hit-lead Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz is simply excellent. Based on a village this movie has everything to offer for instance melodrama and emotions by Meena Kumari, romance between Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz, excellent soundtrack by Laxmikant Pyarelal, some powerful dialogues, comedy by Johnny Walker and fine cinematography.
Rajesh Khanna plays a truck driver who kills Meena Kumari's husband on an accident by his truck and the judge punishes him to serve Meena Kumari's family for few years. Then the story takes a beautiful turn. Will the family be able to live with a man who has killed their father? How will everything resolve? Will the driver be able to make them understand that it was just an accident not a murder? How does he help them? You must watch it to find out.The chemistry between the lead pair is superb. They fight, they get romantic and sing some beautiful songs penned by Anand Bakshi after falling in love.
