As you'll all know, I'm a massive fan of hammering a PAF-loaded Gibson into a cranked tube amp...who isn't, right? Over the years, I've spent too many hours modding guitars, rolling pickups, comparing hardware, etc - all in the pursuit of 'that' elusive tone.

Today's guitar has gotten me (probably) the closest yet. Because this is a Corsa Manalishi, Serial No: MAN-030...a boutique, handmade burst-a-like that has been modelled (tonally, at least) on Peter Green's 1959 Greeny. The construction isn't 100% vintage-accurate, but the changes that have been made have all been done - according to Larry Corsa, at least - to enhance the tone, and get us closer to the sound of Greeny using modern materials.

So, we have a chambered mahogany body, a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, Faber hardware as stock (Larry is also the US importer/distributor of Faber hardware), his 'NTN' satin finish and a super flamy maple top to satisfy even the most hardcore Nigel Tuffnell. I've also tweaked it up with a set of VIPots (550k Centralab replicas), Paper-In-Oil tone capacitors, and a set of ThroBak SLE-101 PAFs. So we should be onto something, right?!

It's a featherweight at 7lbs 2oz, has sustain & resonance for days, and plays like butter...but how does it sound?
