I couldn’t shake the disappointment after watching The Ballerina, so I sat down and asked myself: What would’ve made this story work? And honestly... it’s not that hard.

In this video, I break down my rewrite—how I would’ve restructured the movie to give us a female lead who doesn’t just look dangerous, but is dangerous. One with a strategy. With rage. With agency.

Here's what my version includes:
🩰 Start strong with the trauma, then launch us straight into killer mode
🗡️ Show her already in the game, taking out targets with purpose
🧠 Strategic kills that slowly reveal she's tracing her father's murder
🎞️ Flashbacks done right: woven into fight scenes, not dumped as exposition
💬 Show the flashback of the mentor who says, “Fight like a girl. You’re not a man.” (YES.)
💬 Show the flashback of her twirling until her feet are bloddied and that lady saying try again
Then before she going into the middle of ACT 2 put her in that assignment where she finally gets to one of the top guys with the symbol that traces her dad's killer.
💣 Then you are off to the races!

If they had given her drive from the start, I promise this would’ve hit way harder. She deserved better, and so did we. And if this becomes a franchise? Please, please bring in a woman with a pen in the writer’s room.
