Описание к видео Life as a Wildlife Ranger in South Sudan

Hellen is a ranger with the South Sudan Wildlife Service working to protect Southern National Park. South Sudan, located in East-Central Africa, is a biodiversity hotspot and home to many threatened and charismatic species including lions, chimpanzees and African wild dogs.

Hellen has spent 10 years working as a ranger for the Wildlife Service, a typically male-dominated environment, and currently holds the rank of Corporal. Rangers play a vital role in protecting species and their habitats through anti-poaching activities and engagement with local communities to help develop sustainable livelihoods initiatives.
