A combination of videos I took on January 19 of the sunrise, sunset and day 1 crescent moonset. We started the day with a sunrise on Pine Mountain and ended it with a sunset from our own balcony. After the sun went down, I was able to spot the tiny sliver of a crescent moon after searching for a bit. This was a treat to see, as the moon usually sets very close to the sun on Day 1, making it nearly impossible to spot it before going down because the sky is still bright enough to wash it out.

This time, the moonset time was nearly an hour after sunset, so the sky was a little darker by the time the moon went down giving us better chances of spotting it. Even then it was still hard to spot, but I finally noticed it above the tree and recorded it until it sank below the pines about 10 minutes before going below the horizon. A great start and end to a lovely Monday!
