This book was part of the 1611 KJV as well as the dead sea scrolls which predate any other scrolls. I believe this scripture was removed because it doesn't line up with dispensasionist theology. It covers the Babylonian captivity, and the regathering of Yasharel into New Yerushalym. It is full of cross references from Daniel, Isaiah, Deuteronomy, and even revelation. There is so much spiritual food in 1 baruk. It also provides so much comfort to know why we're in dispersion today and lies in store for those who endure untill the end.
