An offering of soothing, uplifting music to meditate, pray or relax to. This song is a hybrid of a chant I wrote called “The Veil is Lifting” merging into an ancient 1200 A.D. Neapolitan chant “Jesce Sole”.
My guitar/vocal arrangement is based on an adaptation of "Jesce Sole" by John La Barbera and Alessandra Belloni created for their folk-opera STABAT MATER. I was fortunate to be asked to perform the role of "Jesus" in this production (sung in Latin and Italian) at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC around 1997. "Jesce Sole" (originally sung as an invocation to the "morning star" - the rising sun) was sung in the folk-opera STABAT MATER at the time of Jesus' resurrection. I have the permission of both John La Barbera and Alessandra Belloni to use my version of their adaptation of "Jesce Sole".
