Subject Verb Agreement | Part 4: Compound Subjects with And, Nor, Or (English Grammar Lesson)

In part four of my Subject-Verb Agreement in English grammar series, we will discuss compound subjects with and, or, and nor. There are different subject-verb agreement rules depending on the coordinating conjunction we use after a subject. This lesson will clear up any confusion on this topic! I will also teach you different exceptions to the rule when compound subjects take a singular verb instead of a plural verb.

In part one of my Subject-Verb Agreement series, we learned that singular subjects need singular verbs and plural subjects need plural verbs. In part two of my series, we explored collective nouns and how they usually take a singular verb. Part three focused on subject-verb agreement with countable vs. uncountable nouns.
