"Scapegoat Blues" is the raucous and blistering opening track from Jimmy Herring's 2008 solo album, "Lifeboat" - the first of two albums he has released under his own name. The song is a blues at heart, fused together with diminished harmonies and gospel undertones.

Jimmy is definitely a guitarist's guitarist. He has incredible chops, a soaring tone, and is unbelievably emotive. I was lucky enough to catch him a couple of years ago with John McLaughlin for the Meeting of the Spirits tour. He has yet to disappoint.
