Phin carried the Nuform sample to Roxxon Plaza with the intention of overloading the reactor and destroying the complex. However, Miles discovered that Krieger had altered the reactor's specifications, meaning that overloading it would result in the destruction of all of Harlem. Prowler, who had redeemed himself, arrived to help evacuate the trapped citizens, allowing Miles to confront Phin without any hindrance. Despite Miles' warnings, Phin disregarded them due to her dwindling trust in him after his past lies and engaged in a battle with him inside the plaza buildings. Meanwhile, Simon Krieger broadcasted that he didn't care if the reactor went critical as it would benefit the company by portraying a terrorist attack.

This further fueled Phin's anger, prolonging the battle. However, she eventually realized that the battle was causing more harm than intended and acknowledged that Miles was right. After both of them fell from a building, Miles used his bioelectric powers to absorb the reactor's energy while Phin, seeing that Miles wouldn't survive, had a change of heart. In a flashback of her brother's final moments, she sacrificed herself by using her programmable matter boots to propel herself and Miles high above Manhattan. This allowed Miles to safely release the reactor's energy stored within him, resulting in Phin's demise.

Following a crash landing in the destroyed Plaza, the residents of Harlem and Rio rushed toward Miles, relieved to see that he had survived. However, they mourned together with Miles over Phin's death. As news reporters arrived, the citizens of Harlem and Rio shielded Miles' identity as Harlem's Spider-Man, preventing it from being exposed to the public. Miles swung away from the scene as the citizens covered for him.

Later, it was revealed that Aaron Davis had surrendered himself to the police and provided evidence that brought down Roxxon once and for all. Simon Krieger was shown being arrested while protesting his innocence. Miles was then depicted walking through Harlem, greeting his neighbors, and eventually making his way to Trinity Church. There, he left the science trophy as a tribute to bid a heartfelt farewell to Phin.
