We start our adventure at Carawine Gorge, wishing we could have stayed longer, but there’s so much more to explore! Camping at Skull Creek, we relax beside a crystal-clear spring amidst paperbark trees before heading to Newman to secure a permit for the Kalgan Pool track. Along the way, we uncover fascinating history at an old State Battery in WA, learning about how small gold prospectors processed their finds. Lunch in Nullagine, a town rich with its own gold prospecting past, fuels us for the next leg of the journey. We end the day camping at Sandy Creek, a fantastic free camp just 30km from Newman.
