Although Kenpachi accepts defeat, he wants to get stronger so that he can fight Ichigo again one day. Kenpachi reflects on his past and remembers the first time he met Yachiru who did not have a name at the time. Despite not having a name of his own, Kenpachi names Yachiru after the person he admires most.
