Selecting / Installing New Gas Tank for 3rd Gen Camaro - IROC-Z Barn Find Camaro EP#18

Does your 3rd Gen Camaro need a new fuel tank? Comments / tips on choosing and installing a new fuel tank system, including parts selected. I bought a Dorman gas tank, gas cap, fuel pump, and fuel sender. I provide some comments on how to get filler neck aligned. The new Dorman fuel tank required a new gas cap, the factory cap won't fit. Dorman used a gas cap for a late model Camaro.


Background: "Barn find" 1985 IROC-Z Z28 Camaro with Tuned Port (TPI) LB9 engine that has been parked for 25 years. The original owner passed away and his father sold the car to me. What will be required to make this car run again after being parked for so long? It has just over 101,000 miles, all the parts are there, and it seems to be in overall good condition with the exception of the engine and fuel system.
