Strictly Scottish (RSCDS Edinburgh)

Описание к видео Strictly Scottish (RSCDS Edinburgh)

"Strictly Scottish" is a 48 bar reel for six couples in square set with 5th and 6th couples in the centre facing 1st and 3rd couples respectively.

This dance was devised by Bob Grant, RSCDS Edinburgh, to mark his fifth production of “Strictly Scottish” in 1997 which the Edinburgh Branch of the RSCDS mounted as part of the Edinburgh International Festival Fringe.

The original tune “Strictly Scottish” was composed by Doreen McKerron.

The music was recorded by Doreen McKerron (piano), Pete Clark (fiddle), Anne Evans (flute) and Wendy Weatherby (cello) on our Dancing Forth too recording which is available from our Branch Shop. The CD includes the instructions for the dance.

Special thanks to everyone who has assisted this project.

The dances have all been filmed in the historic City Chambers located in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town - a UNESCO World Heritage site. We are very grateful to our Honorary President, the Lord Provost for allowing us to film in the main Council Chamber which is full of character and grandeur. It is dominated by an impressive dome stained-glass ceiling and features a striking fireplace. Murals depicting the Coats of Arms celebrating the marriages of the Kings and Queens of Scotland encompass the room.

Filmed and edited by Red Barn Studios.
