Golden Nozzle Car Wash: Oxford Site [Early 2000’s Belanger Mini Tunnel]

Here is a 2022 retake of the Golden Nozzle Car Wash in Oxford MA! This was taken right after filming the RAZOR at the Mobil gas station.

As you all know, Golden Nozzle basically acquired every single Shell station car wash that features a mini tunnel system. This is one of them. It was purchased by Golden Nozzle in late-2019, but didn’t open under the franchise name in late-2020. I have no idea if the wash was still open during that time or not, but according to google maps, it was.

Before it was acquired, all of the original equipment was still inside the Wash tunnel, which is (and kinda was) early to mid-2000’s Belanger equipment. The set-up is really interesting, as it not only has the usual WaveAcross, Twin Wave mitters and Gyro wraps, but also has a set of side washers. These are very rare at Shell stations, as most that had them shut down the car wash permanently, or replaced the entire wash.

Just like a few other Golden Nozzle locations, they kept most of the original Belanger equipment. They removed the Neon Stick signage unfortunately, installed a set of Sonny’s tire shiners and surprisingly, replaced all of the AirCannons with Sonny’s dryers. I don’t know why, but my guess is that they weren’t working that well. Or they wanted to get more efficient and quieter dryers, as AirCannons are quite loud and there are houses literally right next to this gas station.

Oddly, this location doesn’t have a Lava application foamer at the entrance. There is plenty of room for it so I don’t know why this site doesn’t have one. Also, the hot wax applicator now works here, but It only works if you are a wash pass member for golden nozzle, as the top wash here only adds Tire shine. Not hot wax. Kinda weird.

Comments: the wash did a great job! However, the dryers could be a bit better as they weren’t that great but besides that, this was a very nice wash.
