This was a race called Racesport Vertical:

It takes place starting from the foothills of the Dolomites in Poleo di Schio, a small village. From there it is pretty much all uphill till the top of Monte Novegno. Nice 4k ft elevation gain in just about 4.5 miles.
The race has about 200 participants and is put together by a group of volunteers who train in the nearby hills and mountains.
Very hard course but the view on top and the camaraderie during the ascent are totally worth it.
