Weeds are an unsightly blemish in any lawn, and when temperatures warm up for summer, southern warm-season grasses become vulnerable to weed activity. Fahrenheit Herbicide is a great post-emergent herbicide that’s used to treat over 100 different weed species in warm-season grasses.

To use Fahrenheit Herbicide, you’ll need to mix the product into a sprayer of your choice. For a normal lawn application, use a handheld or backpack sprayer. To cover acres of space, we recommend using a spray rig.

To calculate the amount of product you need to use, calculate your treatment area’s square footage by multiplying the area’s length by its width. Check Fahrenheit’s label for the application rate you’ll need to treat your targeted weed, and use the measuring cup to portion out the right amount of product. To treat weeds like dandelions, you’ll apply 3 to 4 ounces of product evenly over 1 acre. For spot applications, you can mix 0.2 ounces in 1 gallon of water per 1,000 square feet of treatment area.

Fill your sprayer with half the required amount of water, then add your measured amount of Fahrenheit. Agitate the mixture until the product is fully dispersed, then add the remaining amount of water. Once the solution is fully mixed, you can add additional products like marking dyes or surfactants. Always add surfactants last.

Once your solution is well-mixed, use a fan-spray setting to spray target weeds. Individual weeds can be spot sprayed, but you can also apply a broadcast treatment if your lawn is experiencing heavy weed activity. You’ll notice affected weeds start to die within 7 to 10 days, however, keep in mind that a follow-up application may be necessary to kill hardy weeds.

Fahrenheit Herbicide is labeled to treat weeds in residential lawns as well as on commercial properties like parks, campsites, sports fields, and school grounds. Use this product only over labeled tolerant warm-season grasses.

Though Fahrenheit Herbicide can be used year-round to treat a wide variety of weeds, herbicides work best when applied to actively growing weeds. Time your treatment so that there is no rain for several days after application. Rainfall, light mist, or irrigation soon after the product dries may reduce the effectiveness of the product and retreatment may be necessary.
