Shrimp Fishing OFF HORSES in Belgium | Oostduinkerke CRAZY UNESCO Tradition

Описание к видео Shrimp Fishing OFF HORSES in Belgium | Oostduinkerke CRAZY UNESCO Tradition

For almost 700 years, the fishermen of belgium have been using draft horses to help them catch and gather shrimp. While riding the horses, they drag a long net behind them. This is the last place on earth to use this traditional fishing method. Since 2013, this has been listed by UNESCO as an Intangible cultural heritage of humanity, because of the activity’s consciousness for the marine environment. Currently only practiced by 15 fishermen in the world, this is one thing that I thought would be really neat to see. But, the weather had other plans.

In the next video, I will be running a marathon in Belgium - In Flanders Fields Marathon! Subscribe if you want to see it :)

Thanks for watching!
