Part 2: • Common tree frog (Polypedates leucomystax)...
#Dlium Gudindang or common tree frog or golden tree frog or javan tree frog or striped tree frog (Polypedates leucomystax) is a species of animal in the Rhacophoridae, frogs of medium size, rather slender, males about 50 mm long and females 80 mm.
P. leucomystax has a smooth-skinned dorsal, without folds, bumps or nodules. Color varies from light yellowish or grayish brown to pale whitish or plain, while others have large and small dark spots or longitudinal stripes.
Half the fingers have membranes for swimming or almost none. The swimming membranes on the feet are black to the very tip of the toe, except for the longest fourth toe which only reaches the second segment from the tip. The eyes are large and prominent, the irises are golden yellow, the upper lip is golden and the lower is black.
Foam bubbles to protect the eggs from drying out until they hatch and the tadpoles fall into the water. During the breeding season some male frogs show an aggressive attitude towards the presence of light by approaching and perching to make a sound: pro-ek... wrok!... krot... krot... krot which looks like a person grinding their teeth.
