STAY AT HOME VERSUS SHOOT TO KILL

The pandemic has spread as if it was like a plague that was intentionally infected target enemies of the virus’ origin. You may notice the obvious increase of pandemic patients in prominent countries. But while there is a fictional-like war in in the world today, there is an ongoing war between Filipinos and elected Authorities.

‘Stay at home,” President Duterte begged the Filipinos as he declared the entire country under ECQ (Enhanced Community Quarantine) last March 16, 2020. Yet many ignoramus people protested on how unlawful our president is and for the reason that this ordinance might be an occurrence of martial law 2.0. Some reasons of the protest were about the low class community for having no income because of this stay at home policy. They may have some points but there are many ways to voice out their claims. People went out and did not care about the danger of their actions. More volunteers help the activist to shout their claimed rights yet did not understand that they have the right to remain in their homes to stay safe.

With our President's strong willed character, he stated in his declaration ordering the military, "Shoot them dead!" Knowing our President, this may be a direct order or just merely a scare tactic for mischievous activist to follow the first order, "Stay at home." President Duterte is showing everyone tough love and had to put fear into the hearts of the Filipinos and especially to these protesters! After the "Shoot to Kill" announcement, leaders of the protest started to shout their rights through social media and live steams. Now they stopped protesting on the streets but still continue online. At least they are now at home, safe! So begging to stay at home or ordering to shoot them dead are different statements but has one end purpose, and that is for us to be safe and be less of a headache to the frontliners. Do Filipinos really need to be threatened to obey the President's orders? Do we really need to trigger the authorities for us to be safe? These simple statements are easy to comprehend. These were not stated to harm us but for every Filipino to be safe.
