Hey everyone. Shane here with etrailer.com. Today, I have 2022 Chevrolet Traverse. I'm gonna walk you through how to install Yakima's Timberline roof rack with JetStream Crossbars. This is what they're gonna look like when they're installed. These are gonna be great for carrying your bike racks.

Maybe you wanna put a cargo carrier up here. Maybe you wanna put a, if you have a platform, different things like that, kayak carriers. This is going to accommodate getting all those items up on your roof to where you don't have to carry 'em on the back of your vehicle. This kit is gonna come with the arrow crossbars, as well as the foot pack for raised rails. These bars are gonna be 16-inches long.

This is what is recommended for this car by Yakima. Unlike some of the other ones, we're not gonna have to trim this rubber piece in here. You're gonna take your item that you wanna mount, you're gonna push down on the rubber piece, slide it in place, get it set, and then tighten it down. Some of the other types of arrow bars out there, you actually have to trim this piece and it'll only potentially use a gap for any water or anything like that to intrude. The jet stream design is really gonna help cut down on any wind noise.

The overhang is gonna be great for anything that you wanna get a little bit closer to the outer edge of the car, say like a kayak, anything like that, that you don't have to reach so far up on top of the roof to get it down. As far as the foot pack, these are gonna mount to your crossbars. As I mentioned earlier, your raise rails on your vehicle. They're gonna be rubber lined so, they're not gonna damage your crossbars. It's gonna have a rubber strip that you wrap around and you tighten it on the inside here.

If I pop this cap off, this is gonna be the rubber strap. It's gonna hook or loop onto these two hooks right here and it gets tightened down, which secures it to the crossbar itself. As far as the cap, and pop this out, and you can buy key to like lock cores for your roof rack. So, if you're on vacation somewhere, you're not gonna have to worry about anybody trying to take it off your vehicle. Your crossbars have a weight capacity of 165 pounds. You just wanna double check your owner's manual or contact a manufacturer to make sure your roof is capable of handling that amount. To start your installation, you're gonna take your crossbar, flip it upside down. You want this side facing out towards the outside. Strap in the middle. If you have to, right inside there you wanna loosen that so that this has some play in it. We're gonna slide it right in this track. Like that. We're gonna leave it loose for now. It's a great idea to go ahead and pop your end caps in place before you get it put up on your roof. On your bar, you're gonna notice there's a skinny side and then a wider side. We want that thicker side to go towards the front of the vehicle. If you have to, get an extra set of hands when you lay it across your bars on your car. Dependent on your items that you're setting up on top of the roof or on your racks, you at least wanna make sure that your spread is at least 24 inches. So, we're gonna go ahead and set that at 24 inches. Maybe about here. Once you get it set as far as crossbar spread, then you wanna measure from here out just to the edge of the bar on each side, and you wanna make that equal. So what we're gonna do, measure like this, and if you have to at this point, you can take this cap back off. It's up to you. This side is about five inches. And go over the other side and measure that and we'll split the difference. We're gonna go right up here in the middle on the top, and we're gonna tighten this down. That's gonna tighten your crossbar down to your foot. And we're gonna come down to this one, loosen it. If it's not loose, push it in. Pull this out. We're gonna run that strap right up on those hooks and we're gonna tighten it down. This is what's
