Baywatch was released on the 22nd of September 1989, the plot of the TV series was about a wave of crime that hit the beach. The locals were not impressed by the turn of events and took it upon themselves to protect the bay. They were led by Mitch Buchannon who led a team of elite lifeguards.

They were later joined by three recruits who went deep undercover to expose and take down a ruthless businesswoman whose plans and activities would have destroyed the future of the bay. After the show’s release, it ran in its original format up to 1999 and then changed to Baywatch: Hawaii from 1999 to 2001.

The producers then reproduced a spin-off series “Baywatch Nights,” which only aired for two seasons and a 2017 feature film adaptation. The TV drama first aired on NBC and ran for 11 seasons, the season finale aired on May 14th, 2001.
